2019 St. Croix Forestry Conference
Join us for our annual St. Croix Forestry Conference and learn about the challenges, successes and future directions of forest management in the St. Croix River watershed. This year’s conference will explore topics such as invasive species management, silvicultural practices for wildlife, management practices to improve and protect water quality, and much more! New this year, optional half-day field workshops will also be offered the following day to delve into some hands-on training and to experience the forests of the St. Croix watershed.

This year’s conference will feature presentations on the following themes:

New Approaches & Understandings in Forest Invasive Species Management
Forest Management Practices for Wildlife and Water Quality in the St. Croix
Regional Timber Market Trends: Agency Perspectives and Industry Directions

NEW THIS YEAR: Optional Half-Day Field Workshops will be offered on Friday March 29, 2019, following the full day conference.
Workshop 1: Hands-on Herbicide Training for Forest Invaders, led by 4-Control

Workshop 2: Native Jack Pine Management for Native Habitat and Timber, led by Wisconsin Dept. Natural Resources

Continuing Education Credits are available for both the Conference and Half-Day Field Workshops.

Who Should Attend:
Local, state, federal and private foresters in Wisconsin and Minnesota, land managers, and other natural resource professionals and landowners interested in forest management and maintaining healthy forests for healthy watersheds.

Date: Thursday March 28, 2019 – Friday March 29, 2019
Time: Thursday March 28, 2019: Full Day Conference
Registration & Check-In: 8:30am – 9:00am
Conference: 9:00am – 4:30pm

Friday March 29, 2019: Half-Day Field Workshops
Check-In (at workshop location, varied): 8:30am
Workshop: 8:30am – 12:00pm, followed by on-site networking lunch

Cost: Full Conference Package (Full Day Conference Program & Half-Day Field Workshop): $50, includes lunch and refreshments for both days
Full Day Conference Only: $40, includes lunch and refreshments throughout the day Half-Day Field Workshop Only: $20, includes lunch and morning refreshments

Conference Volunteers can register for a reduced cost of $25 for the Full Conference Package. Volunteer assignments are limited. If you would like to volunteer, please contact Nicole Butler at or (715) 483 – 3300 no later than Thursday January 31, 2019. Volunteer assignments will be given on a first-come basis.
