DESCRIPTION:The Phantom of the Kitchen is a fast-paced\, comedic stage play that follows a recently divorced mom\, Sarah\, and her two teenage children\, Alex and Jessie\, as they move into a suspiciously affordable\, outdated house. The siblings couldn’t be more different—Alex is a preppy overachiever\, while Jessie is a sarcastic goth—but both are thrown together to uncover a mystery when they realize their new home is haunted by a dramatic ghost. The ghost\, Margot Sinclair\, was a passionate (but overlooked) community theatre actress who now haunts the house in a rotating cast of characters. Her flair for the theatrical is matched only by her commitment to method acting… even in death. As Alex and Jessie dig into the mystery\, they discover a strange connection between Margot and their creepy neighbor\, Mr. Grimble\, a handyman. Their investigation reveals that Grimble may have had something to do with her untimely death. \nThe play is a blend of family comedy\, ghost story parody\, and lighthearted mystery. At its core\, it’s a story about grief\, second chances\, and the power of stepping into your own spotlight—dead or alive. \nThe show will run July 31-August 3 and August 7-10 at the Voyager Village Events Center. \nAges 13+ for some adult themes.
