Opening Weekend at the Forts

Opening Weekend at the Forts brings two full days of spring traditions and living history to Forts Folle Avoine Historical Park on May 23rd and May 24th. Visitors can explore the Fur Trade Era encampment, meet reenactors, and enjoy a weekend filled with seasonal activities that mark the start of summer at the Forts!
On Saturday, May 23rd, the Opening Weekend Plant Sale runs from 10 AM to 4 PM. Guests can browse a wide selection of plants to brighten gardens and flower beds, with all proceeds supporting the Forts.
On Sunday, May 24th, the Wild Rice Pancake Breakfast is served from 8 AM to 12:30 PM. The meal features wild rice pancakes made with locally sourced wild rice along with eggs, sausage, milk, orange juice, and coffee on the back deck of the visitor center. After breakfast, visitors are invited to wander through the encampment and learn more about the fur trade.
