At Smoland Inn, you take a step back in time the minute you walk through the doors of the 1800’s hand-hewn two story log farmhouse. Want to stay a while? Great! The Inn has 3 bedrooms (1 queen, 1 double, and 2 twin beds) for you to make yourself right at home; as well as a shared parlor, kitchen, dining room, dressing room, bathroom, sauna area, screened porches, and much more! You can rent the house for any kind of private get together where you can bring your own food or the innkeepers will arrange catered meals for you. There is even a kitchen and beef store for you to do some shopping while you are there!

Hand-Hewn Log Home Built in the 1800’s
“In 1989 we purchased a Wisconsin farm which had two houses on the property. The house we live in was built in 1903 and the original house was a two story, hand-hewn-log structure. The Magnuson family built original house in the 1800’s when they emigrated from ‘Smoland Prairie,’ a province in Sweden.
The original house had been vacant for more than 50 years, and the foundation was crumbling and the house was in total disrepair. Renovating the house promised to be a challenge, adventure and dream come true.
After much hard work and many changes and setbacks — including the 2001 tornado that ripped through our farm — we opened Smoland Prairie Homestead Inn to the public.”
